Living History

Ms. Cook's Honors US History class had a choice of four projects, one being doing a Living History. This group picked the Salem Witch Trials for their presentation. They met after school to research, come up with a skit, and practice. We performed for the 5th grade at Oliver Elementary and for Mr Byrds English class. They did an excellent job!

U.S. History 10 Honors Bike Ride

The bike trip around Historic Columbus was another choice of projects for the Honors History classes. In this group, each student picked a historical site to research. On Saturday, October 4th, this group biked to each historical site and the student gave an oral presentation on the historical significance. The students had an absolute blast. One student said, "This is so much more fun than sitting in class listening to a lecture. I actually learned stuff today!" The group went to the following locations: Linwood Cemetery, the Naval Museum, the Pemberton Home, the Slave Cabin @ the Langdon House, the Eagle-Phenix Mill, the Springer Opera House, the Mott House, the Horace King Bridge, and the Heritage Park.
